Urban Farming in Pink

Tennessee...

Pink interiors of rare apples

The morning fog froze as it skimmed over the farm at the end of our road. Crunching through iced grass, my youngest daughter, Ella, and I chatter, alternating between giggling and singing bits from the "Into The Woods" score.

Out of the woods is more like it...

The green of our new home peeks from behind the 63 trees we now own. The summer leaves usually hide it from the road, but now, in the winter, you can see it clearly through the fingers of the trees.

It's a long way from Nevada...

Is this dragon fruit?

We haven't been here long, but we're starting something new and exciting for us - our own urban farm.

Well...as urban as you can be in a town of 20,000 and 2 acres.

We don't have a background in farming, other than a few small gardens here and there. Our experience with animal husbandry is limited to the various cats and dogs who deigned to let us take care of them.

But I can't wait...

Let the adventure begin!
